NYCOM Maimonides Society
Mission: Maimonides Society’s mission is 1) to enhance medical education and practice by incorporating Jewish values and ethics, 2) to educate current and future physicians on Jewish cultural issues and their relevance to the practice of medicine, and 3) to provide a resource for Jewish students at NYCOM. We look forward to providing exciting opportunities for community volunteerism, and information and education on aspects of Jewish culture and life that relate to medicine for students and physicians of all background.

Our Chapter: Maimonides Society is a very active organization and is planning many great events for the coming year. Our aim is to appeal to a broad range of interests and to offer programing dealing with a variety of informative topics. Some examples are: “Hospital Clown” training; visiting the ill; a panel discussion on religious views of contemporary, debated issues in medicine; a talk on religious and cultural issues that may arise in our clinical years; a bake sale and food drive to help support local charity organizations. We look forward to seeing you at our events this year! Shalom!
