MSA held its second general meeting with a combined meeting with AMWA on November 9, 2011 at 12 pm at William Rogers Auditorium. Dr. Abu-Sbaih came to have a discussion about being a woman in medicine and her religious views and how it plays into her practice of medicine. All e-board was present. Vice president, Farzan Gorgani started with an introduction.
Dr. Abu-Sbaih gave a general talk on how to balance life and family into the medical profession. She discussed about a variety of topics including HMO versus PPO, her Islamic views and how she plays that into her practice, why she went into the OMM specialty, her time here as a NYCOM student, and having children during her stressful career. Many students asked her questions. The meeting adjourned at 12:46 pm.
